• Analysis of user needs and the state-of-the-art of available drowsiness-monitoring systems
• Definition of AWAKE system architecture
• Development of pilot plan (for 17 pilots)
• Development of warning concept and the HMI
• Verification of sensors and subsystems
• Performance of pilots (in parallel with system development)
• Development of Traffic Risk Estimation module (TRE)
• Development of Hypo-vigilance Diagnosis Modules (HDM)
• Development of the Hierarchical Manager
• Integration of AWAKE system into different driving simulators and three demo vehicles (luxury car, city car, heavy vehicle)
• Design guidelines for various aspects of drowsiness monitoring systems
• Legal framework and recommendations to insurance policies, authorities and the industry.

Different platforms where the AWAKE system is integrated and tested (Driving simulator at VTI, University of Stuttgart, PAVCAS; heavy vehicle, city-car and luxury car)
